...And Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi is a retelling of the greek myth of Demeter and Persephone. With our production manager working remotely for the majority of the timeline I worked to make sure all communication that was necessary was happening.

Amputees by Quentin Nguyen-Duy is about first-generation Vietnamese-American Sam Nguyen is home for the Holidays. He is forced to rekindle his relationship with his schizoaffective brother and estranged mother, Sam seeks to find the origins of his family’s trauma in his father’s past. When the past becomes blurred with the present, Sam is confronted with an ugly family history that is not so far from his own.

As this production was a new play process, I worked closely with the playwright, director and actors to give feedback on the play and any changes that were made. I also worked closely with the playwright and director to design a schedule that allowed the playwright freedom to make changes while also acknowledging that changes closer to the performance date would be quite difficult for the actors.

The Grace of Mary Traverse

Stage Manager: Zoe Garrick

Director: Jessica Scout Malone

The Grace of Mary Traverse follows the sheltered daughter of a wealthy merchant who leaves home to experience the outside world. This play was performed in a quaker house, we took great advantage of the playing space we were given. We used the architecture of the room as is and used costumes, props, and extreme characters to communicate change in location and time.

Horizon Line is a retelling of Homer's Odyssey. We follow Odessa, as she tracks her infamous father through a contemporary, anachronistic American landscape. On her journey, Odessa encounters odd and familiar characters who help her understand that each of us our in charge of writing our own story.

This was a new play process that sought to create a true immersion of the audience with scenic elements that put the performers and the audience together

In this production Orwell's dystopian world was used to critique the global acceptance of authoritarian tendencies in liberal democracies and the adoption of a ubiquitous communication technology that collects, preserves, and uses data on each one of us. We participate in an “opt-in” surveillance state where our leaders constantly manipulate truth and objective fact.

As a stage manager on this production I worked to facilitate a partnership and experiment with the School of Visual Arts, and BU’s Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. We used projection mapping to allow projections to interacts with the actors in live time.
